Dr. Chris Mackowski, professor of Journalism and Mass Communication, presented at the 2024 Prince William County (Virginia) History Symposium on March 23.

He spoke about "The Rise of Stonewall Jackson." Jackson was a Confederate general in the Civil War.

Mackowski used Civil War-era newspaper coverage to illustrate Jackson's rise from obscurity to become one of the most famous figures in the war over just a few months.
