Dr. Heidi L. Henry, assistant professor of Counselor Education, authored an article titled "An Affirmative Approach to Counseling Fat Women: Recommendations for Counselors" that was accepted for publication in the Spring 2024 issue of the Journal of the Pennsylvania Counseling Association, a peer-reviewed academic journal.

This article explores fatness as an intersectional identity, including fat women’s experiences of discrimination. Recommendations for affirmative counseling approaches centered around a fat liberationist framework are provided.
