Dr. Barry L. Gan, professor emeritus of philosophy, presented a paper titled "Against the Weaponization of Nonviolence" at the annual meeting of Concerned Philosophers for Peace, Oct. 27, in Knoxville, Tennessee. 

The previous week, Gan attended the Conference on the Ethics of War and Peace at West Point. The keynote speaker was Stephen Pinker of Harvard University. Also presenting were professors from various disciplines and from countries around the world.
