Dr. Connie Perkins, RN, CNE, founding director of nursing, lobbied in Washington, D.C., with a group of New York deans and directors of nursing on behalf of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.

The contingent visited the offices of New York representatives in D.C. including U.S. Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand and Chuck Schumer, and U.S. House Reps. Hakeem Jeffries, Jerrold Nadler, and Nick Langworthy.
