Tom Buttafarro, director of government & community relations, and Cindy Smith, director of the Higher Education Opportunity Program, presented at the statewide conference of the New York State Association of College Admissions Counselors (NYSACAC), hosted by St. Bonaventure in May.

Buttafarro and Smith highlighted the significance of political advocacy in higher education, particularly in relation to the experiences of minority and underserved students. Their discussion provided valuable insights into the impact of advocacy efforts, the role of Student Advocacy Day in Albany, and the implications of the state budget on funding and resources.
