Dr. Nate Smith, assistant professor of counselor education, gave a presentation titled "Watching Them Walk the Tightrope: Anti-LGBTQIA Youth Legislation Counseling Supervision & Ethics" at the 2023 Texas Association for Counselor Education and Supervision Midwinter Conference in Georgetown, Texas. 

 

The presentation reviewed professional counseling ethics and emerging anti-LGBTQIA legislation impacting counseling practice. The presentation drew an audience so large many attendees had to stand, which Smith says is rare for conference presentations
