Simone presents and leads workshops at first Drama Day for teachers from two counties

Dr. Ed. Simone, professor and director of the theater program, was an invited guest presenter and student workshop leader at the first Drama Day for Cattaraugus and Allegany County Teachers.

The all-day event was held May 4 at the Palmer Opera House in Cuba, New York.

For teachers, Simone presented and led a discussion on "Starting with Shakespeare: Using Actors' Approaches to Teach the Plays" and then held student workshops in Shakespeare Acting Explorations, Voice Acting and Body Dynamics for Actors.

Simone is a 30-year member of Actors' Equity Association, the union of professional actors and stage managers; an associate member of the Society of Directors and Choreographers; and a member of the Voice and Speech Trainers Association.
