Simpson interviewed for TV report on research into PFAS

Apr 01, 2022

Dr. Scott Simpson, assistant professor of chemistry who is involved with University at Buffalo professors in a collaborative study of the impact of PFAS on our health and environment, was among those interviewed for a news report by WGRZ-TV in Buffalo.

Simpson and his fellow researchers are studying a group of manmade chemicals known as pre- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS. Called "forever compounds," these chemicals, which can cause cancers and other health issues, have been detected in food, soil and drinking water, and can be found in every living thing.
