Dr. Samantha Gavin, assistant professor of criminology, accompanied eight students to the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS) conference held in Las Vegas in mid-March.

The students. members of the Alpha Phi Sigma national criminal justice honor society, participated in the Alpha Phi Sigma competitions. Ana Ocasio, a junior sociology major, won a scholarship, two students presented their honors projects via panel presentations, and three students presented their research via poster presentations.
