Sr. Margaret Carney, O.S.F., president emeritus of St. Bonaventure University, recently published a new biography of St. Clare of Assisi.

 

The work is titled "Light of Assisi: The Story of Saint Clare" and is available from Franciscan Media. 

 

"The desire to to this work is related to the many times colleagues from the university complained that they had so little to go on when it came to learning the full importance of St. Clare’s life," said Sr. Margaret. "While there are numerous volumes in our Franciscan Institute collection, they tend to be specialized academic works.

 

"Taking advantage of the research of the last 30 years, this new life of the saint allows a reader to grasp her importance as a leader of the early Franciscan communities of both women and men."
