James Tkacik, director of clinical education for the physician assistant studies program, has been working with Southern Tier Health Care System Inc. over the past year on ways to partner with the organization.

The collaboration resulted in STHCS hosting the program's inaugural cohort for a week at the STHCS Training Center for completion of the American Heart Association's Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Post-Licensure Assessment System (PALS) courses.

Headquartered in Olean, STHCS is a not-for-profit organization that provides programming for the benefit of residents in Cattaraugus, Allegany and Chautauqua counties.
