Mackowski video seriesDr. Chris Mackowski, professor of journalism and mass communication in the Jandoli School of Communication, spent the first five days of December in western Tennessee and northern Mississippi where he co-hosted a series of videos for the American Battlefield Trust.

The video series highlighted actions at a number of Civil War sites, including forts Henry and Donelson, Shiloh National Battlefield, Stones River National Battlefield, Parker’s Crossroads Battlefield Park, Brice’s Crossroads National Battlefield, and the battles of Franklin and Nashville.

Mackowski co-hosted with historians Garry Adelman and Kristopher D. White, and their on-the-battlefield guests included Greg Biggs, Parker Hills, Eric Jacobson, Jim Lewis, and Timothy B. Smith.

The videos are appearing this week on the Trust’s Facebook and YouTube pages.

The American Battlefield Trust is the country’s largest battlefield preservation organization.
