Dr. Gabriel Swarts, assistant professor and chair of the adolescence education program, co-authored an article for Education Sciences about implementing teacher education technology competencies (TETCs) into teacher preparation programs. 

 

The article includes narrative research and qualitative data analysis from five secondary education faculty as they worked to modernize their technology integration and experiences for students in 2018 and 2019. 

 

This study highlights process and deep program analysis regarding implementation of newly available technologies and practices including utilizing disciplinary-specific technologies for each content area as well as incorporating next generation general purpose education technologies (including AR/VR, interactive multimedia presentations and content creation, GIS technologies, and animations). 

 

The research article was accepted for publication in October of 2021 and will be published publicly in December 2021/January 2022.
