The American Battlefield Trust, the country’s largest battlefield preservation organization, offered a special Preservation Edition of "Hell Itself: The Battle of the Wilderness" (Savas Beatie, 2016), a book by Dr. Chris Mackowski, professor of journalism and mass communication, as part of an effort to preserve a parcel of ground on the Wilderness battlefield.

The Wilderness was a major Civil War battle that took place in central Virginia in May 1864. Donors who contributed $64 or more received a free copy of the book.

Mackowski also made a video for the trust to support the effort: https://www.facebook.com/ameri..... The American Battlefield Trust is a 501(c)3 nonprofit.
