Walker publishes chapter on social flow in psychology series

Jan 06, 2021

Dr. Charles Walker, professor emeritus of psychology, published a chapter on “Social Flow” this month in the Advances in Research in Psychology series edited by Corinna Peifer & Stefan Engeser.

Social flow is a form of flow seen in highly collaborative, high achieving human groups. Based on research done at St. Bonaventure, Walker describes the composition and processes of groups that initiate and sustain social flow.

In addition to reviewing basic research, he suggests how social flow can be facilitated and enhanced in small groups in businesses, sports teams, musical groups, and dance and theatre ensembles.
