A children's picture book by Heather Harris, assistant professor and director of the integrated marketing communications program, has won the New York City Big Book Award.

Her book, "Clover and the Shooting Star," which helps the youngest of audiences process the loss of a loved one, won the award in the category of Children's Inspirational.

This national award recognizes quality books for children published by independent publishers and evaluates thousands of books based on presentation, editorial quality and audience appeal.

This is the second picture book authored and illustrated by Harris that has won a national award.
