New editions of two books by Dr. Chris Mackowski, professor of communication, associate dean of the Jandoli School and chair of its four undergraduate programs, have been issued by his publisher, Savas Beatie.

The titles are "A Season of Slaughter: The Battle of Spotsylvania Courthouse" (co-authored with Kristopher D. White) and "Grant’s Last Battle: The Story Behind the Personal Memoirs of Ulysses S. Grant."

The new edition of "Grant’s Last Battle" features a new foreword by Jared Harris, who played Grant in Steven Spielberg’s movie "Lincoln." The book was also released in late October in audiobook format by Audible, narrated by the author.
