PA faculty engage in dialogue on clinical education, innovation
Faculty from the Physician Assistant Studies program — Dr. Keith Young, founding director and associate professor; Dr. Scott Medler, professor of PA Studies; Nicole Ackley, director of Clinical Education and clinical assistant professor; and Kate Nelson, clinical assistant professor — attended the Physician Assistant Education Association conference in San Diego, California.
The national conference brought together PA educators from across the country to share best practices in clinical education and stay informed about evolving standards in certification and accreditation.
Medler presented a talk titled “Bridging the Gap: Connecting Basic Science to Clinical Practice” at the conference. He explored post-pandemic educational transformations, basic science faculty perspectives, and their impact on student learning outcomes and clinical preparedness within a Physician Assistant program.
