Founded in 1985, The Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) is a student-run emergency medical services (EMS) agency at St. Bonaventure University.
Composed of more than 40 individuals, student volunteers are all New York state or nationally certified emergency medical technicians (EMT-B), or are training to be. In order to foster a safe community, MERT is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
This organization is dedicated to serving the students, faculty, and individuals at St. Bonaventure University and in the surrounding community. In addition to offering emergency medical services, MERT members also work with organizations in the community, volunteering its services for events held by the Special Olympics and the Southern Tier Health Care System.
MERT is a great way to gain leadership and medical experience. If you are interested in becoming a part of the team, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. MERT is always looking for new members and you do not need any prior experience to join.
In cases of a medical emergency, MERT can be reached (716) 375-2525.
