The Black Dog, a Massachusetts-based restaurant and apparel company, has signed a contract to be the premier sponsor for St. Bonaventure University’s rugby programs.
Black Dog CEO Daniel Pucillo, a 1991 School of Business alumnus, played rugby at St. Bonaventure.
“The progress of the sport at St. Bonaventure is remarkable so I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to be a sponsor of SBU rugby,” Pucillo said. “I cherished my time at Bonaventure and being a Bona rugger was a big part of that experience. It’s a great sport with even better camaraderie and traditions. The bonds forged with teammates from those days are still strong.”
Promotion for The Black Dog will be displayed at the games, and on game shorts, rugby broadcasts, social media, and the rugby webpage. Plus, after each men’s game, the team will name The Black Dog Man of the Match.
“I can’t thank Dan enough for his generosity in supporting our growing rugby programs,” said Rob DeFazio, director of the Center for Activities, Recreation and Leadership at SBU. “This kind of philanthropy is so important for us to succeed.”
