  • SIMM 20th Anniversary Celebration

    Join us as we celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the SIMM Program (Students in Money Management).

    This milestone event will bring together alumni, faculty, current students, and distinguished guests to honor the legacy and achievements of the SIMM program over the past two decades. It will be a day filled with insightful discussions, networking opportunities, and a celebration of the program’s impact on shaping the future leaders in finance and portfolio management.

    A block of tickets has been reserved for the men’s basketball game in the Reilly Center at 4 p.m. against Buffalo. Please purchase your ticket here. This link will expire on Dec. 5.

  • Join fellow alumni to volunteer with Making Spirits Bright

    Get in the holiday spirit and make a difference in our community! Join fellow alumni to volunteer with Making Spirits Bright, an incredible organization that collects and distributes Christmas gifts for local families in need.

    What You’ll Do: Help us wrap gifts and bring smiles to families this holiday season!
    When: Sunday, December 8, 2024 | 9–11 a.m.
    Where: Baytowne Plaza, Webster, NY (Next to Once Upon a Child)
    Spots Available: 25 volunteers

Mark Twain: The Roughin' It Years

In April 1861, 25-year-old Sam Clemens (alias Twain) was “livin’ large” in New Orleans and working his dream job as a riverboat pilot. And then, in the blink of an eye, his life changed forever. With the outbreak of the Civil War, the Mississippi River closed to commerce. Sam lost his lucrative career, and, being somewhat faint-hearted, feared that if he stayed in New Orleans he would be coerced to join either the Union or Confederate Navy. What to do?
