St. Bonaventure University is featured prominently in the September edition of St. Anthony Messenger magazine.
In the story “Francis and Clare Go to College,” writer Pat McCloskey, O.F.M., takes a closer look at how Franciscan colleges and universities in the United States are growing through pilgrimages, classes and community service.
St. Bonaventure is among five universities featured in the magazine, which highlighted Bona’s Veterans Franciscan Pilgrimage to Assisi. On the nine-day pilgrimage to Assisi, Italy, student veterans explore the birthplace of Saints Francis and Clare and engage in healing meditations designed to help Bona vets with their transition from soldier to student.
A number of photos from the 2018 pilgrimage in May were also published, including the cover image of student veteran Greg Kahle, ’19, of Olean taken by classmate Emily Knitter, ’18, of Ellicottville.
St. Anthony Messenger, a Catholic family magazine, is published by Franciscan Media, a ministry of the Franciscan friars of St. John the Baptist Province. Read the current issue of the magazine here.
