The SBU campus is invited to join Dr. Chuck Walker and students in his Psych 232 class to take action to support the International Day of Happiness. He has asked students in his class to take photos of people or things that support their happiness as students at SBU and then post them on Twitter with #sbuhappy.
The entire SBU community is invited to add to this bonfire of goodwill and happiness by snapping a photo or two and posting the pictures on Twitter.
Walker, professor of psychology at the university, maintains the website Well-Being in Higher Education.
He has been invited to speak on the results of his research on student well-being at numerous conferences and has written journal articles or book chapters on rumor and gossip, faculty well-being, or topics in positive psychology.
Monday was the first day of spring as well as International Day of Happiness.
