May 04, 2023

Darla Kent, clinical assistant professor of occupational therapy, defended her doctoral capstone project on April 20. The topic of this capstone was "Occupational Therapy Taking the Lead: A Faculty Development on Interprofessional Education in a Rural School of Health Professions."

Kent chairs the Interprofessional Education Committee in the DePerro School of Health Professions, and has focused her research on establishing IPE curriculum to meet accreditation requirements across nursing, physician assistant studies, occupational therapy, and public health programs.

Using the interprofessional socialization framework, Kent educated faculty on evidence-based best practices to foster collaboration and learning activities among health professions programs.

Kent will graduate on May 13 from Gannon University’s post-professional occupational therapy doctoral program.
