Conference overview

This two-day conference (Friday evening and all-day Saturday) will explore interdisciplinary and practical perspectives of the impact of our ever-increasing digital society.

As we navigate the rapid transition from face-to-face interaction to living and working in a virtual world, many report positive outcomes, whether in the form of more focused teaching strategies or a deeper level of intimacy afforded by the perceived anonymity of the screen.

There is a dark side, however, such as the presence of inauthentic users and biased content on social media platforms, that some contend is fracturing society and undermining democracy.

This conference seeks to explore all topics related to reclaiming and maintaining some sort of “authentic community” that is essential to mending our fractured society. Please join us, in person or virtually, whether you have research to share, ideas to discuss, or just to share in fellowship.

A detailed presentation of conference topics and a schedule of programming will be announced when those details are known.
