I have long been interested in both personality and sexuality research. Most recently, my research interests have included narcissism and a related topic, academic entitlement (i.e. “the tendency to possess an expectation of academic success without taking personal responsibility for achieving that success” (Chowning & Campbell, 2009, p. 982)). I recently completed two studies investigating academic entitlement. One investigated the relationship between forgiveness and academic entitlement. The other looked at academic entitlement and attitudes toward cheating. Both will be submitted for publication/presentation very soon. In addition, I am beginning a longitudinal study of academic entitlement to begin this year.
With regard to sexuality research, my primary research interest has been the personality variable of erotophilia/erotophobia. This is one’s level of comfort with sexual information. Currently, I am preparing a study in the area of sexuality prompted by the interest of a student working with me. We are going to investigate men and women who report pretending orgasm (as well as those who do not).
