Dr. Darla Kent, clinical assistant professor of occupational therapy, shared her doctoral research in a poster presentation. on Nov. 3, at the 2023 Interprofessional Care for the 21st Century Conference at Thomas Jefferson University’s Sidney Kimmel Medical College.

The presentation was titled "Occupational Therapy Taking the Lead: A Faculty Development on Interprofessional Education in a Small, Rural School of Health Professions."

Kent represented St. Bonaventure’s commitment to academic excellence by sharing the DePerro School of Health Professions' interprofessional education (IPE) curriculum design with health care professionals, faculty, and students from across the Northeast.

Kent has established the IPE model for the DePerro School, based on the interprofessional socialization framework. In late fall of 2022, Kent implemented a faculty development IPE curriculum workshop for faculty across all programs in the school. Since that time, the IPE Committee, led by Kent, has continued to design and implement IPE activities for the school to meet accreditation requirements and prepare students to become high-quality, efficacious health care professionals.
