3 Dec 2012 Mary K. Harner is inducted into the SBU Sigma Pi Sigma Chapter.
15 May 2012 Andrew Nicholson graduates with a B.S. in physics. Accepts position in Applied Sport Engineering with the Orlando Magic.
15 May 2011 Courtney Bosse, Jacob Donius, Steve Gearhart, John Hasper, & Troy Mulholland are all inducted into the SBU Sigma Pi Sigma Chapter.
15 May 2011 Four physics majors graduated. All are planning to attend graduate school.
6 May 2011 Retirement reception for Dr. Neeson.
Jan 2011 Dr. Neeson retires. He'll teach a course from time to time.
Dec 2010 One physics major graduated. Plans to attend graduate school
15 May 2010 Jack Fuller is inducted into the SBU Sigma Pi Sigma Chapter.
15 May 2010 One physics major graduated. Has entered graduate study in secondary education.

15 May 2007 Daniel Barr and Dominick Patrone are inducted into the SBU SPS Chapter.
15 May 2007 Four physics majors graduated. One is employed in engineering, one is entering graduate study in mathematics, one will be teaching High School.

15 May 2006 Stephen Schrader, Joe Abriatis, and Jonah Riddell are inducted into the SBU SPS Chapter.
15 May 2006 Five physics majors graduated. Three are entering graduate studies--one in biophysics/biochemistry, one in civil engineering, one in radiology.

Fall 2005 Dan Barr has returned from service and resumed his studies.

October 2004 Dan Barr, physics major and a resident of Olean, has been called to active duty in the US Army and is posted to Iraq.
August 2004 Dr. DiMattio is tenured and promoted to Associate Professor.
15 May 2004 Three physics majors graduated. One is commissioned in the Army Engineers; one is employed with a big construction firm & attending graduate school; one is entering a graduate program in electrical engineering.

11 May 2003 Joseph Schneible is inducted into the SBU SPS Chapter. He'll be going on to a Ph.D. program in physics.

6 Dec. 2002 Dr. DiMattio makes an astronomical presentation at the Pfeiffer Nature Center--Bradford Era
August 2002 Dr. Budzinski chooses semi-retirement. Dr. Kiefer receives promotion to the rank of Professor. Dr. DiMattio is elevated to the rank of Assistant Professor.
6 May 2002 Peter Walters is inducted into the SBU SPS Chapter. He'll be going on to a Ph.D. program in physics.

21 May 2001 The Physics Department Summer Junk Disposal Project got underway today. The Project entails the systematic and ruthless disposal of unused, unusable, and useless items from the departmental classrooms and storage areas.
