Young and Szymanski attend annual NYSSPA conference

Nov 18, 2022

Dr. Keith Young, founding director of the physician assistant studies program, and Jeffrey Szymanski, clinical assistant professor, recently attended the annual meeting of the New York State Society of Physician Assistants (NYSSPA) in Saratoga Springs, New York.

This was the first time that St. Bonaventure, as a program, was able to attend the annual conference in person.

Szymanski and Young, a previous NYSSPA Educator of the Year awardee, had the opportunity to connect and share best practices with PA clinicians and faculty from across the state.

Present at the conference were a number of clinical preceptors who have overseen second-year St. Bonaventure PA students in their clinics. Young and Szymanski also had a chance meeting at breakfast one day with Tom Schwaner, a 1978 SBU graduate who is a PA at Riker's Island prison in New York.
