			CURRENT RESEARCH INTERESTS/PROJECTS

My research interest is in self-compassion, and I am currently beginning the process of becoming a trained Mindful Self-Compassion instructor through the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion. Research shows that self-compassion increases joy, quality of life, and job satisfaction while decreasing anxiety, depression, and burnout (Neff, 2003).
My goal is to create and teach a Mindful Self-Compassion course at St. Bonaventure, helping students learn how to integrate this self-care practice into their personal and professional lives.

			PERSONAL INTERESTS/COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

I live in Kane, where I was born and raised, with my three kids, Sam, Sophia and Seth. I have a strong sense of family and community, and enjoy being part of the small town I grew up in.
