TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
CURRENT RESEARCH INTERESTS/PROJECTS

My primary area of interest is rural community health, with a particular focus on community involvement and education within the field of nursing. I am passionate about addressing health disparities in underserved rural areas, where limited access to care and health education often contribute to poorer outcomes.

I am especially interested in community-based approaches that empower individuals and families through accessible, culturally relevant education and preventative care initiatives. By equipping nurses and local stakeholders with the tools and knowledge needed to support their communities, I aim to strengthen local healthcare infrastructure and promote long-term wellness. My goal is to contribute to sustainable improvements in rural health through collaborative, education-driven strategies.

PERSONAL INTERESTS/COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
I live on a farm with my husband and one daughter in high school. My other four children are adults and live in Ohio. We actively practice homesteading and love connecting with nature. Nursing is my happy place.
