  • Nationally known for his expertise on John Milton, as well as the mythological tradition in medieval literature
  • Author of “Through a Glass Darkly: Milton’s Reinvention of Mythological Tradition,” the product of 30 years of research using original sources in England, Italy and the United States
  • Editor of “Milton and the Middle Ages,” published in 1982, and “Renaissance Latin Drama in England,” published in Germany in 1991
  • Author of numerous journal articles, essays and encyclopedia entries and a presenter at national and international conferences on medieval literature
  • Editor of the journal Cithara: Essays in the Judeo-Christian Tradition
  • Holds a bachelor’s degree from Iona College, a master’s degree from Marquette University, and a doctoral degree from the University of Minnesota, where the College of Liberal Arts has named him to its honor roll of Alumni of Notable Achievement
