Memorial donations set for Br. Ed Coughlin; Monday’s Funeral Mass to be streamed

Br. Ed Coughlin, O.F.M., who died Monday at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester after suffering complications from heart surgery.

In lieu of flowers, Br. Ed’s family and the friars of Holy Name Province suggest donations be made to advance the Franciscan mission of one of the three Franciscan schools that helped form and shape Br. Ed’s life: Bishop Timon-St. Jude High School in Buffalo, St. Bonaventure University or Siena College.

At St. Bonaventure, donations should be made to The Franciscan Heritage Endowment. At Siena, donations should be made to The Br. F. Edward Coughlin, OFM Endowment to Advance Franciscan Values.

St. Bonaventure will be live-streaming on its Facebook page the Funeral Mass for Br. Ed at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5.

A wake will be held from 4-6:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, and 1-6:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at the St. Bonaventure University Chapel, Doyle Hall. A vigil wake service will follow at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
