And your professors won’t just teach you in the classroom – they’ll get to know you outside of it. Many of the classes in your major and the General Education curriculum are taught by faculty who are club advisers, members of our community, and Friars, who demonstrate a lifelong dedication to the teachings of St. Francis.
St. Bonaventure provides you an education that’s rich in compassion, community and service. It’s part of the Franciscan experience, and it’s how we inspire our graduates to go out into the world and contribute something extraordinary.
What does that mean?
St. Bonaventure was the first Franciscan university in the U.S. St. Francis of Assisi was known as the man of peace. He dedicated his life to peace, the poor and the planet. By concentrating on teaching the world to focus on goodness, St. Francis inspired the St. Bonaventure cornerstones of discovery, individual worth and community. Cornerstones we still value today.
You’ll have plenty of opportunities to get involved during your time at St. Bonaventure – opportunities to strive for and share your own extraordinary goodness.
You’ll have opportunities to attend retreats, join interest and service groups, and actively participate in a vibrant community with one common goal – to show the world the astonishing benefits of goodness. Imagine living in a world that focuses on positive change. At St. Bonaventure, you will.
Why we believe it
Why it matters to you
St. Bonaventure students don’t just leave with a degree. They leave prepared to live a life of greater meaning. They leave prepared to live a life of greater meaning and to inspire change everywhere they go. St. Bonaventure graduates are prepared to live extraordinary lives – and most of them do!
We believe that the world’s opportunities are best pursued with a unique commitment to peace, the poor and the planet, inspired by St. Francis himself.
When you commit to achieving extraordinary goodness in your own life, you’ll begin to realize that together, we can change the world.
That’s the power of a Bonnie. That’s the Franciscan experience.
