ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - Employees marking significant service milestones were honored by St. Bonaventure University at its Spring Awards Ceremony Tuesday, as were faculty, staff and students deserving of recognition for their achievements during the 2011-12 academic year.
The university lauded 52 employees who mark employment anniversaries this year, and three faculty members who are retiring. The retirees include John Hanchette, associate professor of journalism and mass communication; Dr. James Moor, assistant professor of political science; and Sandra Mulryan, English lecturer
Two faculty members were presented with professional excellence awards. Dr. James Mahar Jr., associate professor of finance and founder of BonaResponds, the university's volunteer disaster-response team, received the Award for Professional Excellence in University Service. Kevin Brayer, executive director of St. Bonaventure's Buffalo Center at Hilbert College, received the Adjunct Faculty Award for Professional Excellence in Teaching.
Also recognized were winners of the annual Fr. Joe Doino, O.F.M., Honors and Awards. The recipients, nominated by students, faculty and staff, are honored for their contributions to the university during the 2011-12 academic year.
