The Induction Ceremony for three honor societies at St. Bonaventure University’s School of Business was held April 3 at the William E. and Ann L. Swan Business Center.
Dr. Pierre A. Balthazard, dean of the School of Business, gave the welcome, with remarks given by Sr. Margaret Carney, O.S.F., S.T.D., university president.
Beta Gamma Sigma is a national honor society for business and management programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Election to a lifetime membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest honor a business student can receive in either an undergraduate or a master’s program.
The graduate student inductees into Beta Gamma Sigma for 2014 are Michelle Bailey of Arcade, N.Y.; Sarah Chase of Buffalo, N.Y.; Lucas Johnson of Port Allegany, Pa.; Jeremy Lons of Springville, N.Y.; Reed McElfresh of Olean, N.Y.; Cory Rickettson of West Seneca, N.Y.; Christopher Scott of Cuba, N.Y.; Larry Tosh of Allegany, N.Y.; and Chad Wanderlich of Hamburg, N.Y.
The undergraduate student inductees into Beta Gamma Sigma for 2014 are: Kaitlyn Anthony of Endwell, N.Y.; Jessica Emick of Portville, N.Y.; Rachael Hermann of Hamburg, N.Y.; David Paccapaniccia of Indiana, Pa; Grace Rooney of Syracuse, N.Y.; Sarah Shembeda of Olean, N.Y.; Darren Simons of St. Mary’s, Pa.; Matthew Socci of Fairport, N.Y.; Patty Thibodeau of Portville, N.Y.; and Steven Zimmer of Lancaster, N.Y.
During the ceremony, Rachael Herrmann was awarded a $1,000 scholarship, which was jointly presented by the School of Business and the National Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society.
Alpha Mu Alpha is the national marketing honor society recognizing and rewarding scholastic achievement of outstanding marketing students across the country.
Inductees into Alpha Mu Alpha for 2014 are Frank Buscemi of Rochester, N.Y.; Peter Dolliver of Rush, N.Y.; Sarah Gaulin of Buffalo, N.Y.; Courtney Hoenicke of Mason, Ohio; Michael Iulianello of Webster, N.Y.; Megan Junker of McMurray, Pa.; and Lily Timlin of Amherst, N.Y.
Omicron Delta Epsilon is an international honor society honoring outstanding scholastic achievements in the field of economics.
Inductees into Omicron Delta Epsilon for 2014 are Jesse Byrnes of Oakland, N.Y.; Joseph Covley of West Seneca; Peter Eller of Sayre, Pa.; Michael Felter of Webster, N.Y.; Christopher Mackey of Bradford, Pa.; Nickalaus Padlo of Peachtree City, Ga.; and Andrew Wartella of Oneida.
