The Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts at St. Bonaventure University and the Ink Well art supply store in Allegany will once again offer the Hidden Treasures summer daytime art camp for children ages 7 through 11.
This year’s four-day camp will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3, through Thursday, Aug. 6. Children will spend their mornings at the Quick Center, eat a bag lunch and walk to the Ink Well at 51 W. Main St. in Allegany for afternoon activities.
This year’s theme is “treasures hidden within” and campers will be encouraged to explore undiscovered talents within themselves. In the morning, against the art galleries of the Quick Center as a backdrop, they will learn new artistic skills and explore acting and the stage. At the Ink Well in the afternoon, students will participate in a variety of projects using many different media so as to free their creative expression and help them discover what they do best.
“This camp is all about finding your inner artist and expressing yourself through color, shapes, forms, and more,” said Evelyn Penman, assistant director of the Quick Center.
The cost for the camp is $169. Scholarships are available through the Quick Center.
To register, stop by the Ink Well. For additional information, call the Ink Well at (716) 373-0326 or visit the store’s website at www.inkwellonline.net/summerartcamp. Camp size is limited.
