Franciscans International recently invited Dr. Myka Lahaie, assistant professor of theology and Franciscan studies, to participate in a cohort of Franciscan women who will engage in discussions and events at the U.N. Commission on the Status of Women in March.

This year's theme focuses on the issue of poverty. 

Lahaie said she is excited to bring what she learns back to the classroom as an example of how the Franciscan tradition offers unique resources for inspiring ongoing collaborative efforts toward positive change.
