CS 126. The Science of Images

An introduction to computer graphics and the mathematical and scientific principles that are fundamental to creating images on a computer. Topics include hardware and software concepts required in computer graphics, an introduction to modeling and viewing objects in 3-dimensional coordinate space, computer animation, color and illumination theory. Laboratory exercises and projects are an integral part of the course. The laboratory will be completed with the use of a graphics software system that requires no programming. The course consists of three lecture hours and one two-hour laboratory per week.
