BIO 362/BIOL 362. Developmental Biology

This course provides a detailed study of molecular and cellular control of embryonic and post-embryonic development in several model systems (Drosophila, C. elegans, Xenopus, Chicken, and Mouse). Topics include fertilization, gastrulation, organogenesis, pattern formation, cell differentiation, and molecular signaling mechanisms in development. Evolutionary aspects of developmental biology and current research in the field will be addressed throughout the course.
Offered: Spring
Credits: 4
Prerequisite: Biology 105/106 or equivalent.
