SBU earns Tree Campus USA recognition

St. Bonaventure has been recognized by the Arbor Day Foundation as a Tree Campus USA. Only about 100 campuses have received this designation since the program began in 2008.

Paper cranes to help bring hope to Japan

More than 1,000 paper cranes were folded by members of the SBU community and students from Ivers J. Norton Elementary School to raise money for the people of Japan.

"Green" townhouse results exceed expectations

The first full semester of sustainable living in half of Townhouse 23 has resulted in a 47 percent drop in electricity usage. Energy efficient lighting and appliances were used in the townhouses that also saw a drop in natural gas usage.

Basketball players open their hearts to 91-year-old fan

As they prepared for their first round NIT game, members of the St. Bonaventure men's basketball team took time to pose for pictures and listen to stories of Bonaventure teams from the past from 91-year-old Olean resident, Nora Chambers.

Local fourth-graders team up with the Quick Center and raise $1,100 for the Warming House

Going, going, gone! Sold to the highest bidder in the Art from the Heart Silent auction held recently to benefit the Warming House. The auction featured art created by local students from East View Elementary School.

Native American to discuss career as a medicine man

Edward Gray, one of three medicine men among the Mohawk Nation of upstate New York and southern Ontario, will present, "Traditional Iroquois Healing: A Medicine Man's Insight," Friday, April 8.
