University sets sights on 2015 - new strategic plan approved

St. Bonaventure University President Sr. Margaret Carney, O.S.F., and Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Michael Fischer, along with other members of the administration, faculty and staff, outlined the details of the University’s new strategic plan, Becoming Extraordinary 2015, to the campus community at the annual Fall Convocation on August 24. The Board of Trustees approved the plan in June.

University forms Intercollegiate Athletics Strategic Planning Committee

St. Bonaventure University Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Michael Fischer, Ph.D., announced today the creation of a strategic planning committee on intercollegiate athletics. “The creation of this committee is the next step in our University-wide strategic planning effort,” said Fischer.

Eleven Bonaventure graduates participated in George Washington's Annual White Coat ceremony on August 20. The ceremony welcomes first-year medical students into the GW Medical Center community.

University appoints Associate Provost, Interim Dean, Associate Dean

The University has announced the appointment of three academic affairs administrators: Peggy Yehl Burke, Ed.D., as Associate Provost and Dean of the School of Graduate Studies; Joseph E. Zimmer, Ph.D., as Interim Dean of the School of Education; and Carol M. Fischer, Ph.D., as Associate Dean of the School of Business.

Pauline Hoffman, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University has been named Interim Dean of the school.

Professor Hughes back to school this fall with artificial heart device

Philosophy professor Roderick Hughes III, Ph.D., can’t wait to get back into the classroom after an almost perfect 41-year attendance record.The long-time educator missed a number of weeks of classes earlier this year due to life-threatening heart failure.
