From jazz band to computer animation, SBU to host summer camps
Teen-agers will have a chance to pursue their interests and meet other teens during summer campus this July at St. Bonaventure. The university will host summer camps for 14- and 15-year-olds ranging from four to seven days. Sessions include STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics), Computer Animation and Narrative Writing for Girls, Rugby, Community Engagement & Service Learning, Broadcast, and Jazz Band Performance Workshop. Costs for the seven-day camps are $500 for students who want to stay on campus, $300 for day camp (includes lunch). The four-day camps cost $300 for a residential session and $175 for day camp.

Two Bonaventure alumni to be ordained
Br. Dan Horan, O.F.M., '05 and Br. Stephen DeWitt, O.F.M., '04, friars of Holy Name Province, will be ordained priests on May 19 at St. Camilus Church outside Washington, D.C.

Hoffmann named dean of journalism school
Pauline Hoffmann, Ph. D., has been named the new dean of the Russell J. Jandoli School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Hoffmann is a 1991 graduate of St. Bonaventure.

The SBU American Advertising Federation places third in nationals
SBU's student advertising agency took third place at the nationwide competition sponsored by the American Advertising Federation (AAF). The group of 29 members, with their campaign for Nissan, went up against major universities with sophisticated advertising programs and several hundred advertising majors.
