Don Schroeder, '67 gets "robed" by his wife, Jean O'Neill Schroeder, '69 following a surprise announcement by University President Sr. Margaret Carney, O.S.F., at the Saturday night dinner during Reunion Weekend. Don was deployed four days before commencement exercises in 1967 and never "walked" to receive his diploma. Jean contacted the university and asked if we could do something during reunion weekend. And so we did.
In the photo below, Don - still in shock - makes his way to the podium to a standing ovation by the crowd of 700.
