Welcome to the St. Bonaventure University School of Business Website. The School of Business was founded in 1941 and moved into the John J. Murphy Professional Building in 1981. The School of Business offers majors and minors at the undergraduate level in Accounting, Business Information Systems, Finance, Management Sciences and Marketing. Minors in Business are also offered in the following areas: Business Administration (for non-business majors), Economics, International Business, Quantitative Analysis for Business and Sports Management. We also offer the MBA degree in the evening on campus and have a 5 Year Accounting Program leading to an MBA degree on campus. In addition, we offer the MBA degree in a weekend format at our Buffalo Center in Hamburg, New York – a suburb of Buffalo.
The School of Business is committed to educational excellence preparing students to meet the many challenges of a dynamic global business environment. The School has produced a significant number of graduates who have become leaders in business, government and not-for-profit organizations throughout the United States.
The School of Business is accredited through The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International). Our faculty are highly qualified and have appropriate academic credentials. Faculty stress a high level of interaction with the students and are able to provide students with practical business examples in the classroom.
Students are provided with the opportunity to have a variety of experiences outside the classroom. A significant number of our students participate in the Internship Program giving them practical experience in a real world environment. Other opportunities include participation in the Students in Free Enterprise Program (SIFE), BonaResponds, and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. For the last several years students involved in the SIFE program have gone to the Bahamas and worked on service projects to assist communities that have encountered devastation through natural disasters. A significant number of students have also participated in BonaResponds which is an organization that was formed to assist in the Hurricane Katrina disaster, and have since provided disaster relief in many other venues. Upper level Accounting students participate in the VITA program which provides income tax assistance to low income taxpayers. The above examples reflect opportunities students have to provide service to society, and assist in developing each student as a total person.
