Below, some generous alumni share their motivation for contributing to the Brick Campaign. What will your reason be?

“Our Dad loves St. Bonaventure University, which I think is evident by his involvement and commitment to the University over the past many years. When his birthday came around last year my sisters and I wanted to do something special for him. My sister Maureen, ’88, suggested the idea of buying a brick in his name, which we all agreed was a great idea. Our Dad was a finance major, so that coupled with his love of Bonaventure made a gift to the new business school seem like an ideal gift.” Denise Dee, ’89

“I bought a brick because I believe in the School of Business and the programs/classes it offers students, and I also know that the faculty is committed to the development of the program. Jeff Peterson served as an adviser to me while I received my MBA in 2004 and every summer I would go back to meet with both Laura and Jeff. A couple summers ago the topic at lunch was the new business school, which Jeff was thrilled to discuss as he shared his excitement for the new building that would enhance the business program and benefit the students. At the moment I was reminded why I chose Bonaventure in the first place: Because the professors truly cared about our education.” Jennifer Kane, ’03 |

"I sent in the brick donation because I knew how much my father loved his participation as a faculty member. He took me to Bona’s basketball and football games from the time I was about six years old. He was a business faculty member at the time but never told me he was not being paid. He really admired St. Bonaventure. When I went to an Ivy League college he told me he wanted me to get my master's at Bona’s. Vice President Fr. Gerald allowed me to attend Bona’s free of charge. The money I paid for the brick honors my dad and goes to thank the university for my education." Dave Dugan, ’56 |

“It means the world to me to be able to give back to my alma mater. Substantial scholarships enabled me to attend St. Bonaventure without being burdened with student loans. The alumni connection was so strong that I was able to get a job offer from a company (with alumni representation) before I even graduated from Bona’s. I have been out of school for 22 years, and have been employed directly in my field of study -- economics -- for the entire 22 years. I feel that I owe the success in my career to all the professors and staff at St. Bonaventure, but especially the economics professors who cared so much about our personal and academic development. In many ways, I see buying a brick as paying them back in a tangible way.” Sandra Chase, ’91 |

"My small involvement in the School of Business construction effort was a huge privilege for me. As so many in my family have attended Bonaventure and studied business, we are so excited about the school’s success and the continuing opportunities alumni have in this special community. There is no comparison to the hands-on and Catholic approach of this school and the benefits from this education that seem to multiply over the years. I am grateful to Bonaventure for giving my family and me this wonderful opportunity." Matthew Cullinane, ’06 |

“The ability to construct a new facility is an excellent compliment to the exceptional faculty at St. Bonaventure. In order to stand apart from other premier collegiate institutions, I felt this addition is a necessity. As an alum of Bona's, it's an honor to be able to buy a brick and be associated with the Bonaventure campus for many years to come.” Greg Moss, ’06 |
