Vallone and Marasco present posters at annual OT conference

Apr 11, 2024

Dr. Theresa A. Vallone, interim OT program director, and Dr. Suzi Marasco, assistant professor of OT, presented posters at the American Occupational Therapy Association's 2024 Conference and Expo in Orlando, Florida.

Vallone presented a poster in collaboration with Dr. Tracy Bentley-Root. The poster, "Perception of Role-Emerging Level II Fieldwork: The Non-Occupational Therapy Supervisor," translates the findings of an investigation surrounding the experiences of non-OT supervisors who supervised OT students for Level II Fieldwork internships at role-emerging placements (REP) where no occupational therapist was employed.

Marasco presented a poster titled "Navigating the Deep End: Examining Supportive Practices for School-Based OTPs." This comparative case study, rooted in action research, examined differences in self-efficacy and job satisfaction for occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants employed by local education agencies. Implications for the field of occupational therapy as well as an action plan for organizational change were discussed.
