Integrated Marketing Communications
St. Bonaventure University is one of only a handful of schools in the U.S. that offers a graduate program in integrated marketing communications.
IMC is an innovative way of looking at business communications. It coordinates and integrates the various marketing communication tools within a company. IMC professionals must successfully manage such elements of the marketing mix as advertising, public relations, business communications, promotions, direct marketing, package design and e-commerce.
IMC graduates are consistently in demand at companies large and small because they know how to successfully execute marketing and communication strategies.
Two choices for busy professionals
Our IMC program is offered in three formats:
- Evening classes on our main campus in Olean, N.Y.
- IMC Online
Courses are offered in eight-week segments. Our faculty are specially trained in online teaching methodology. Students have access to essential technical support whenever it's needed and can work with our St. Bonaventure online concierge.
Students must complete three classes per semester to qualify as full-time students. Most face-to-face classes are offered in five-week segments so students take one class at a time, allowing for complete immersion in the material
The culmination of the class work is the final campaign project that allows students to showcase all they have learned. Each class in the program affords the student the opportunity to add to the final campaign project. (For an example of the final campaign project, click here
Real-world opportunities, home and abroad
Many IMC classes feature visiting speakers with extensive experience in communications. Students may also participate in the Francis E. Kelley Oxford Program
at Oxford University's Trinity College in England, regarded as one of St. Bonaventure's most prestigious summer programs.
4 & 1 option for St. Bonaventure University undergraduates
Current SBU undergraduates may enjoy an accelerated path to the IMC degree by taking IMC courses during the senior year. This '4 & 1' approach requires application to the program during the junior year. In addition to earning the master's degree more quickly, 4 & 1 students can save around $6000 on the cost of the IMC degree. This option is open to strong students from any undergraduate major. Contact Dr. Rich Lee or graduate admissions for more information.
