	Most-recent work	The William E. and Ann L. Swan Business Center is rapidly approaching completion. It will be turned over to St. Bonaventure by the contractor at the beginning of June, although some corrections and detail work will continue into the summer. Over the past two weeks, installation of clay roof tiles began and is now about 70 percent complete; tile and carpet installation began on the first floor; window glass was installed on all but the south side; sidewalks were placed on the east and south sides; the water has been turned on; the temporary lay-down pads for construction materials are being removed and the gravel under them is being recycled under the sidewalks.
	The work ahead:	In the next couple of weeks, the tile roof will be completed and the roof edge copings begun; the atrium ceiling will be completed, so that the floor there can be installed; and glass will be installed in the south windows. Immediately after graduation, the fence on the north side will come down and work will begin on the sidewalks and plaza there.

Work continues on St. Bonaventure University's William E. and Ann L. Swan Business Center.

The two-story, 26,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility, which will be the new home for the University's School of Business, is being built between Plassmann Hall and the Reilly Center.

The Sean Center will open in the fall.

Groundbreaking ceremonies were held March 23, a full six months ahead of schedule, thanks to the success of the ongoing School of Business Campaign to raise $15 million: $10 million for construction of a new facility, $1 million in endowment for building support, and $4 million in endowments for faculty and programmatic support.

The Swan Center will feature:

a two-story, glass-enclosed atrium and gathering space
a corporate boardroom simulator
state-of-the-art classrooms and seminar/study rooms
a financial services lab (trading room), complete with digital ticker
a center for student entrepreneurial studies
vibrant spaces for faculty research
spaces for student collaboration and team building
School of Business faculty offices.

Restored Doyle Hall Courtyard Will Honor Alumnus William C. Foster, ’62

University President Sr. Margaret Carney, O.S.F., and Daria L. Foster with a plaque for The William C. Foster Memorial Courtyard The Doyle Hall courtyard is being transformed into an attractive green space in memory of the late William C. Foster, a 1962 alumnus of St. Bonaventure and a former university trustee.

Daria L. Foster, Managing Partner of Lord Abett & Co. LLC and President and CEO of the Lord Abbett Family of Funds, viewed the space named for her late husband during Commencement Weekend. Ms. Foster received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree at Commencement.

Underutilized in recent years, the courtyard is an open-air rectangular space surrounded by the Doyle Hall residence wing on the west, the University Chapel on the east, and connecting corridors to the north and south. The restoration is aimed at making it an appealing space as an event venue and for casual use, as well.

The renovated space, which will include accessibility for people with disabilities, will have concrete pavement and benches complemented by new trees and other plant life.

The courtyard will honor William Foster's extraordinary record of service and philanthropy to St. Bonaventure. The Fosters' giving to the University exceeds $5 million.

Kinley Corporation takes the lead on Bonaventure Square

The eagerly anticipated Bonaventure Square development on Route 417 in Allegany across from St. Bonaventure University has a new lead developer and firm plans for proceeding with construction.

Officials at Kinley Corporation and St. Bonaventure University announced today that Kinley has assumed the role of lead developer.

The local relationship between Kinley and St. Bonaventure will give the project a fresh approach while still maintaining the goal of Bonaventure Square being a “lifestyle destination” for the school and the surrounding communities. Ross Wilson Associates of Buffalo was the original lead developer for the project.

Project improves campus roads, builds new loop to hiking trail

A project to repair campus roads and build a new loop to the Allegheny River Valley Trail was undertaken during the summer of 2011.

The project included the reconstruction or resurfacing of the most badly deteriorated roadways on campus and the realignment of Clare Road from the intersection near Doyle Hall to the Gardens Apartments.

The project also included construction of a new campus loop to the paved Allegheny River Valley Trail, a 10-feet-wide, 5.6-mile-long asphalt looped pathway that runs along the Allegheny River and through parts of neighboring communities.

The new trail loop begins at the main campus entrance and extends west across the University's vast front lawn to the Clare Road entrance. Lights have been installed along that new roadside section. From the Clare Road entrance, the new trail section turns south and parallels Clare Road back to Francis Hall, then cuts into the woods behind Francis until it connects to the existing trail along the river.

The project included construction of a warming hut and public restroom building on Clare Road, near Doyle Hall.

Campus completes most exciting physical transformation in its history

In May 2006, we began approximately $25 million worth of construction projects, including renovation of Shay-Loughlin residence halls, a Hickey Dining Hall makeover, construction of Cafe La Verna, installation of a new floor at the Reilly Center, and a new all-weather baseball field.
