St. Bonaventure begins pool play Saturday in the Women’s Small College 7s National Collegiate Rugby tournament in Pittsburgh.
“It’s been a busy last two months and we’re looking forward to competing for a national championship this weekend,” said coach Tui Osborne. “The ladies have been diligent and resilient throughout our preparation. It should be a fun weekend for the team and we hope to return home with some hardware.”
The Bonnies play Baldwin Wallace at 4:23 p.m. and Plymouth State at 6:41 p.m. in Pool C play.
The 12-team tourney features four pools of three teams. The top two teams in each pool advance to championship play Sunday with the last-place team in each pool advancing to consolation play Sunday.
Other colleges competing include South Dakota, Rochester, Loyola (MD), Endicott, Chicago, Gannon, York, Lee and Washington (MO).
